Distillery Endorses Digital Density Meter for Alcohol Content Determination

A family-owned Italian distillery has been producing alcoholic beverages—including limoncello, bitters, and grappa—for generations. Originally reliant on glass pycnometers for measuring alcohol content, the lab found that this approach was slow (up to 35 minutes per sample) and dependent on skilled operators who had to manage lengthy temperature stabilization steps.

While the distillery primarily measures ethanol-water mixtures in spirits (e.g., vodka, gin, or whiskey), the same density meter can assess liqueurs or alcopops by first distilling or extracting the ethanol-water mixture.
